Senator Orker Jev has assured Benue people particularly the hundreds of thousands of those that filed out to vote governor Samuel Ortom in the last general elections for a second term as governor, that there’s absolutely nothing to worry about concerning the impending Supreme Court judgement.
The senator representing Benue North-West in the red chambers said that as a lawyer he had worked hard to acquaint himself with the facts of the matter & the judgments of the tribunal & the court of appeals on the matter. He said that considering the position of the Supreme Court in earlier decisions with similar facts,the thought that the Supreme Court would deviate & award judgement to the APC is far fetched & almost non-existent.
According to him,"the Benue APC have been basing their hopes from day one on what they call “federal might”. The so-called federal might failed them at the polls, failed them at the tribunal & Court of appeals & as sure as there is night & day it will fail them at the Supreme Court.” He said.
The distinguished senator further said that the Benue APC’S Premature celebrations because of the Imo verdict is cold comfort as the circumstances are different & the legal representation of governor Ortom is unimpeachable.
He also said the Benue APC’s fortunes were buried at the polls by Benue people & no wishful thinking can exhume it.
"I implore all well meaning Benue people to remain calm & prepare for celebration as they await the Supreme Court confirm what they did at the polls”. Senator Orker Jev concluded in his statement
