1) Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2001)
Budget: £274.5 million ($378.5 million)
This fourth swashbuckling film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is the most expensive movie EVER made.
On Stranger Tides broke many box office records upon release, and it stands as the 25th-highest-grossing film of all time worldwide.
JOINT 2) Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007)
Budget: £217.5 million ($300 million)
Next we have the third film in the Pirates series.

JOINT 2) Justice League (2017)
Budget: £217.5 million ($300 million)
DC comics spent an enormous budget on their rival to Avengers.
The film brought together Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and many more.
JOINT 2) Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Budget: £217.5 million ($300 million)
Proving they are just as good as DC Comics, Marvel also spent a cool $300 million on this epic picture.
The decision has already proved to be wise with the film making history by breaking the record for the all-time international box office with an opening weekend of over $630m.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is the second most expensive
5) Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Budget: £203 million ($279.9 million)
Marvel certainly know how to spend their money, as this 2015 film also cost a pretty penny.
Luckily the film was a HUGE Box Office success and made the money back in no time.
6) John Carter (2012)
Budget: £191 million ($263.7 million)
No expense was spared for this Disney science fiction action film.
Although the film grossed nearly £217.5 million ($300 million) worldwide, it lost a considerable amount of money due to its cost.
DC Comics Justice League also cost $300 million to make
7) Tangled (2010)
Budget: £188.5 million ($260 million)
This Disney film, however, was a HUGE Box Office smash and took home £430 million worldwide ($592 million).
The popular animation was based on the fairytale of Rapunzel.
8) Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Budget: £187 million ($258 million)
This film was Tobey Maguire's last outing as Spider-Man and after the success of the previous two films, producers were keen to splash the cash.
But the film proved a flop - maybe that's why they swapped Toby for Andrew Garfield (who has since been replaced by Tom Holland).
Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War had the same budget as Justice League
JOINT 9) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Budget: £181 million ($250 million)
The sixth Harry Potter film had this biggest budget of all the boy wizard franchise.
But the money was put to good use, as it made around £679 million ($934.4 million) worldwide.
JOINT 9) The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
Budget: £181 million ($250 million)
Money was no object for this final instalment of the Hobbit trilogy.
Following the success of the first two, producers pushed the boat out and made the last movie the best of all three.
Avengers: Age of Ultron also splashed out on an enormous budget - but not as much as the latest film, Infinity War
Marvel release yet another trailer for Avengers: Infinity War and it shows off more never before seen footage
